Dyscalculia

Dyscalculia assessment and therapy for children

Dyscalculia is a learning difficulty with numbers and math. Children may struggle to understand quantities, remember math facts, follow the steps of a problem or understand word problems. At Clinique Dynamique ND, our speech-language pathologists assess and treat dyscalculia as part of our reading and writing services, in English or French.

Signs to watch for

Difficulty counting or understanding what numbers represent

Trouble remembering basic math facts

Mixing up math symbols or the order of steps

Difficulty understanding math word problems

Anxiety or avoidance around math homework

How we help

We start with an assessment to understand your child's strengths and difficulties. Then we provide therapy and strategies for home and school, and work with teachers when helpful.

Bilingual assessments in English or French. Open 7 days a week in Mount Royal (TMR). Insurance receipts provided.
